Fresh collected with high germination rate. All seeds were stored in the fridge in temperature around 4°C/39°F until sold. Large number ensures big germination of plants. Great plant to surround your house with!
Fairly big seeds (4mm) ensure an easy handling of the sowing. Handle with care when sowing the seeds. Propagation and germination notes will be included with the seeds, sow immediately or wait for a second growing season.
Abelmoschus manihot
is beautiful, big flowering plant that reaches 1m (3.3feet) high. It is one of the easiest flowering plants to grow and care. It is a free-flowering and fascinating garden or greenhouse plant that may bloom after short 3 months after sowing. The plant lives 3 years or more, producing seedlings during the way! (The plant may be cut to a 5cm stem at the base for mulch protection during winter even in zones 7-11)
Growing
Abelmoschus manihot
is fun and simple. The enormous flowers measuring 6 inches (20cm) in diameter have a nice smell and a creamy yellow color. Leaves are deeply divided into sections similar to a maple leaf. After a flower, seed capsules will be produced, handle the dry ones with care as they have tiny spines that may hurt your fingers.
Cultivation:
The plant will tolerate any kind of soil mixture, (here in a clay soil the plants have even been flooded by 10cm of water repeatedly in rainy season), but a free draining substrate is advisable. Fertilizing with organic fertilizers or a simple 20-20-20 ensure a huge flowering season. The plant will have at least 1 flower open each day for several weeks. Temperature can range from 45 to 90F.
Germination:
Seeds start to germinate 10days after sowing at 1cm (1/2inch) deep as small plantlets, they need to be spaced 20cm from each other, but a couple of seeds may share a same sowing hole.

Quick extra note: to achieve the results in shown in the whole plant photo, you need to leave the plant grow, when it is flowering and has made 5+ flowers, cut it to 5cm from the ground level, it will branch in that nice way to make a huge bush!
